- Short resume: Nikki Rommers obtained a MSc degree in Rehabilitations Sciences and Physiotherapy from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium specializing in sports physiotherapy and manual therapy. After working as a sports physiotherapist in different sport and clinical settings, she made the transition to research in youth sports. In 2020 she completed her PhD focussing on injury incidence, patterns, and injury risk factors in terms of growth and maturation as well as physical performance and motor coordination in elite-level youth football players.
- What has inspired you? The translation of research findings into practice in order to create a safe and fun environment for the optimal development of children into athletes performing with a smile. Also unexpected additions to the training routine are very inspirational, such as in the video.
